the fee is madness, but United are desperate and with their current midfield options they had little choice. Can't fault his pedigree and in terms of style/profile he should actually be a better fit than de Jong. And really, after being linked to the Arnautovics, Rabiots and Meuniers of this world, I'll happily take a class player like him, even if he costs a lot and is 30 years old. Should still have 3-4 good years in him.
Real is a brilliantly run club though. They stock up on talent before the big-name players actually decline, don't shy away from eventually letting them go (Ronaldo, Ramos, Varane, Casemiro) and hardly miss a beat because those young talents are then ready to fill the gap.
