In the unlikely scenario that Florida sucks and their 2025 pick is a lottery pick, it opens the door for Calgary to potentially lose their own first round pick to Montreal which will NOT be lottery protected and potentially a fourth rounder (with the exception of Calgary's 1st being 1st overall, in which case the 1st rounder slides to 2026 -- the better of Calgary's or Florida's -- plus Montreal also gets a third rounder). Meanwhile, if our own 2025 1st Rounder is NOT 1st overall, it looks like we would KEEP Florida's 2026 (not protected).
