If we sign him to what he is looking for, we will regret it immediately. Best case he is a decent center who is a whipping boy for not living up to his big contract. Then it keeps getting worse every year we have him.
The flames would be much better off going for short value contracts on older vets like Stastny who are more open to 1 year contracts. Keep the cap flexibly and use it opportunistically when other teams get in trouble during the season.

Kadri does not have to be an 80+ point player to help to the Flames while they try to win the Cup for the next 2-3 seasons with this group and coach.
That's the whole point.
He can back slide from his career year and still be the Flames 2nd best center and fill a HUGE need.
