No point in scrimping on the forward group when everything else is set up to win now because we're worried about how a Kadri contract might look 4, 5, or 6+ years from now.

Both our defense and goaltending are top tier as we speak and we don't know how long that will hold true. 2, 3 years?
Absolutely no sense in sitting on a forward group with a hole in the top six and banking on internal improvement. Give this group everything it needs so there are no excuses later about what more you could have done while we were elite on the blue line and in net.
