I don't think anyone in this era is an albatross at $3.75M. The average fourth line player makes roughly $1M, intangibles like intimidation and cup history have some value ... call it $1M.
He's overpaid by $1.75M in that scenario which isn't all that hard to stomach if you want the player.
Different if he's at $5.75M though.
