Perhaps it's recency bias, but I'm born and (mostly) raised here, and I can't recall a sustained heatwave here like this before. Looks like it's going to be exactly like this right through the end of August.
I seem to recall very dry years in the late 70’s and 80’s. It was not unusual for Calgary to be brown in August. The last decade has seen much greener summers than I recall.

Nice to be out of the smoke too!
