I like the idea and I like the stadium. Maybe if Calgary would even look at building or renevating, we don't have much to brag about. McMahon stadium is aging very badly. The grey clubhouse and the exposed concession area doesn't cut it anymore. In what is supposed to be the 4th largest city in Canada, we sure don't have a stadium that fits into that role. I would like to see a major overhaul of McMahon, including a seating capacity of 40,000 to 45,000, cover up the whole exterior, all new concessions, and remove that ugly grey siding and put in place some nice glass and steel facade...paint the 4 towers black! Insert that grass turf, fix up the press boxes and most importantly remove the clubhouse and in its place have bleachers that wrap around that whole side with a new clubhouse underneath.
For our city, McMahon does not cut it in it's current state. I would actually approve more of a renovation project, then building a whole new stadium. A good 30 million would help rejuvenate McMahon, bring out more fans, while still preserving the legacy of the original McMahon with a new feel.
