Obviously the cap space becomes much more significant, and that matters as much later in the season as it does to start it. It allows deals to be made longer out from the TD than waiting to accrue XX dollars everyday leading up to it.
2, it opens up a W spot for the youngsters to try and win. The left side is crowded as it is. Let Pelletier or one of the other guys win that spot in camp....and if none of them really do enough to do that....guess what? You have cap space to go shopping with on the market as teams that start people on LTIR start getting them back and are forced to make moves.

If the Flame have to eat money or send a sweetener it is not worth it if there isn’t another shoe to drop. Is Pelletier really going to benefit from the 4th line? There is the load management piece that has been brought up with Lucic where he maybe only plays 50 games next year. I think he brings value as an enforcer so I am of the belief if they move him another move is coming.
