I think Lucic has always had value. He's not replacement value due to some of his unique intangibles.
He's not a $5.75M player so to move him you'd need a sweetener.
But at $3.75M he's not all that overpaid and the sweetener would be much smaller or non existent depending on how teams value his leadership and uber-toughness.
If the Bruins want him it wouldn't surprise me if the Flames don't have to do much more than retain.
