He is still good at distributing the puck but doesn’t do much aside from that. Sutter would actually hate him. Sutter’s whole system revolves around versatility and possession. I can’t see Kessel doing well under Sutter at all.
I also agree with the posters that say don’t trade Hanifin. Unless it’s an absolute steal and we are getting a bonafide star back, I would prefer to go ahead with adequate forwards and and at least one area of the team that is stacked. Accrue that cap space during the season and hope that opportunity knocks.
I would consider Stastny if he came at a bargain. Rodrigues is so far a one hit wonder and I wouldn’t toss a lot at him either.
