I am in the same boat as you - life is too short to (at best) waste time with politics or (at worst) have it adversely affect your health. I hate the pandemic for so many different reasons.
My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer during the pandemic. She then chose to spend what might have been her last moments getting really into outrage politics....it was absolutely baffling to me. She pulled through and is doing better....but why?

I chose not to engage her in any political debates. Firstly, I don't want to justify many of these positions by actively engaging them. I also didn't want some vulture political pundit to let their profiteering put a wedge withing my family, although they did as other family members engaged my mother on multiple topics.
