It's not even just time. Going from 110km to stopping in average vehicles takes over 60m as well, you dont just apply the brakes and instantly stop at 110km, you travel a long distance before coming to a stop

Like I said, it's a pretty common misconception because we like to think we have spatial awareness from doing it all the time, but we are limited by biology and physics. I had to take a defensive driving course with my last job to be able to drive company vehicles and it's pretty eye opening when you learn the mechanics involved
