Gudbransen being replaced by Weegar is a massive upgrade on an already very deep blueline that only has 1 player over 30 years of age.
Huberdeau replaces what the team lost in Gaudreau which was a more critical loss than Tkachuk in my opinion. Lindholm, Mangiapane, Toffoli are all snipers and 2 of them will benefit from being even strength linemates with him. It is also nice for the team to recoup a 1st round pick and a prospect after sending 1 of each out for Toffoli (who will likely be counted on for a much bigger role in the top 6 this year).
The Flames locking Huberdeau up to the same contract they offered Gaudreau makes sense and is a solid win for the team after taking a couple of tough losses at the start of the summer. It sounds like things could be moving in the right direction with Weegar so the Flames will make good on acquiring 2 key core players for one that didn’t want to be here long term.

And at trade deadline as a player; you seriously aren't going to want to play with Huberdeau? Let's say you're a rental, this guy is gonna pop your stats.
Gaudreau is/was always a pass first player; but a lot of energy expended on his play style to create the space. Where as Huberdeau's success and style is more mainstream and serviceable. Can't wait to seem him in action!
