Yeah, Treliving's weaknesses were coaching hires, struggled to nail down a #1 goalie and bad high price UFA signings.
Now he has Sutter, Markstrom and his last three big UFA signings were Tanev, Markstrom and Coleman.
Plus he hasn't made a crappy trade since the Hamonic misstep, and that was like 4 years ago.
The last two full non-COVID seasons his teams have won the division with 106 and 111 points.
The guy has learned a lot, seems to be well respected and the rabbit he pulled out of the hat this off season from hell is impressive.
If this core can't get over the hump and win the Cup in the next few seasons and they decide to rebuild, I would 100% want him to be the one tearing it down and giving it another go.
