The Tkachuk part makes nothing but sense.
But moving on from your own rentals after trading all your futures for rentals in the last two deadlines makes zero sense to me.
How do you not keep one of the better players in the game making $5.9M when you've made this your window. (Same argument for decimating their blueline in moving on from a cheap Weegar too)
