Well, he scored more than any of those guys last season. I’d put him actually between Kucherov and Rantanen. MacKinnon and Makar are just different, and When Mackinnon signs his next deal, he will make a lot more than Huberdeau. Makar signed an extension when he was a very very promising RFA.
Rantanen signed a 6 year deal at age 22, for $9.25 AAV at a time when the cap was only barely creeping up. The deal only b ought 2 UFA years. And he made $12M in the first couple years.
