Out of interest, where do you draw the line between what is vane and what is simply taking care of something you're invested in and you value?
Not showering saves water - such a waste of water and energy over a dumb little vanity project.
As someone mentioned, I water very little but I do it at the correct times and the amount is controlled (underground sprinklers). Further I use a mix of natural and regular fertilizer twice a year. I mow with a rechargeable mower. I think I'm doing my part while still being able to enjoy my property.
Stop being so lazy and put some effort in. It's not difficult. As others have mentioned, there are alternatives.
