Adidas owned Reebok when that change happened.
They purchased Reebok in 2005 (For $3.8B) and only just sold them in 2021 (for $2.5B) after Reebok failed to really improve as a brand.
I could see Nike getting back in the hockey mix here. Have some actual marketable names with McDavid, Mackinnon, Matthews, etc. And with the improved US TV deal on ESPN and Turner there is actually more eyes on the sport again.
