We've been slowly transforming our back yard over to micro clover. When it's cut it's barely distinguishable from grass, is drought resistant, and our main reason - it doesn't turn brown and die from the dog. We used to diligently re-seed all of our brown dog spots, but the clover has made it unnecessary, and it's great.
