The problem with staying loaded on D is that we end up with too much talent on the bench instead of the ice. It's fun to say we can just play 3 pairs evenly...but why?
I'm on board with trading Hanifin as he'll get us the best return and it still leaves us with 3 - top 2 defenseman. Hopefully Kylington takes another step, but him and Tanev were a good enough pair last year and at least Kylington is dynamic.
Hanifin just always leaves me wanting more and doesn't seem to have that extra gear to take over a game with a big play. Fast but not great on the rush, big but not physical, smooth but loses gaps, good wrist shot, doesn't get it off enough. I think he's a decent #2 dman but that's his ceiling.
