For a much smaller price, perhaps.
But for Hanifin you'd be looking to get a proven, quality forward who can really solidify the top 6.

Necas has hardly taken any faceoffs totalling just 48, 78 and 85 draws taken in each of the last 3 years so his ‘brutal’ face off percentage can be taken with a grain of salt as he hasn’t been played at his natural centre position all that much. Also I said specifically that I wouldn’t trade Hanifin straight up for Necas, I said there’d need to be a plus coming the other way from Carolina and potentially even one more depending on the first plus.
Personally I don’t think Carolina is that great of a trading partner though Necas is being slightly under rated by the board here which is why I chimed in. He does show potential to pop, would I trade Hanifin for him? Definitely not and I obviously wouldn’t do Hanifin + Zary for him either, Carolina would have to add and nothing they would being willing to part with outside of Necas really excites me.
Do I think Hanifin should be considered someone we could trade? I do mainly because his value with the contract he has is at an all time high and they’d be dealing from a position of organizational strength.
