But for Hanifin you'd be looking to get a proven, quality forward who can really solidify the top 6.

There is also the team control factor. Florida traded what to get Tkachuk? Why because they knew they had him signed for 8 years. Him and barkov are young and wrapped up. They have time to build around them
Necas has 4 years until he’s a UFA. He can be bridged he can be signed long term but he has more control with upside.
Maybe hanifin stays but he is very likely to leave in 2 years. Zary is decent but like Necas he also wasn’t great last year. He’s not on any top 50 prospects list so it’s not a huge add just because he have him 4th on our group.
Necas could be signed long term and around $5 mil and it will be a steal
Imo the Flames should be moving one of hanifin kylington or valmaki to improve the forwards. Necas is a righty too so he slots in nicely
