This is a hard one. Morally I can see how it feels wrong for the subset to choose the leader, but technically by our system we never voted for the leader in the first place. The Premier is the face, but we voted for a party to lead us, not an individual. So why it feels undemocratic to have the new leader only be voted on by a few, it is how our system is designed to work.
All of that being said, I think our "democratic" system is a far cry from actual democracy and feels much closer to a oligarchy with Democratic wallpaper.
