I think there is a good chance both sign and do so this summer. When I saw the Walsh tweet that Huby was open to staying here I found that to be a good sign. End of the day I could see it being the deal that Johnny said no to at the end of the day. Coming off career years it makes sense to get that big 8 year deal while the iron is hot. The Flames want no part of this to be a storyline next year so I think they want deals done ASAP.
If both guys sign extensions it will go down as a hell of a trade. I just want to avoid the team being comfortably in a playoff spot but no extensions signed at the deadline next year.
