I strongly believe Huberdeau is a stronger player than Tkachuk today, in the sense he’s a more naturally gifted scorer. And by the same token he’s on par with Johnny, if not slightly better. Having said that, what does a contract look like for him at different tenures?
5 years - $10M/season
6 years - $9.8M/season
7 years - $9.5M/season
8 years - $9.3M/season


I really think they shouldn’t go beyond 6 years for Huberdeau, even if they have to pay him a little more money near term. They’re not in the drivers seat here considering they are a desperate bride at the moment. I think it’ll be a quick signing at 8 years within the next two weeks.
