I think we all need to accept that both these players were not expecting to be here (doesn't mean good or bad) before the weekend. They are good players, on a good team, they often don't get traded. So they are surprised. We also need to accept that that means they haven't spent a tone of time thinking about their next contracts being in Calgary. Doesn't mean they aren't open to it, but we are going to have to bite the bullet as fans that the disarray Gaurdreau and Chucky sent us into isn't going to wrap up over night. This trade made by BT this past weekend is a very positive step in teh right direction, but still many more to come, and many ways this could end (many of them being positive for us).

Every player manages this type of stuff differently. But for the folks topping up with their body language expertise, would it not be fair to say, that a more "negative" body language reaction (like the one above described on Huberdeau), could and likely is related to that being the toughest question to answer? They are aware given everything that happened here, it's what all the fans want to know. It's a hard question, when the real answer is, "this is all new, I haven't even really thought about it yet, but I want to play somewhere that wants me, and I want to cash in....."

That's going to drive crossed arms, eye movement and a lot of, how do I answer this to as genuinely as I can without potentially scaring my new fans for no reason, and also not showing my new GM my entire hand as I may want to negotiate a good deal?
