If the Flames are able to ink Weegar and Huberdeau to long term deals, I think Treliving in one move completely flipped the Flames narrative back to contention window for the next 4 or 5 years. All of a sudden, they are now a team that's probably one more top 6 forward away from having a cup contending team IMO, one that I'd argue is better setup than if we had Johnny and Tkatchuk instead.
With Huberdeau, you finally have a line driving puck possession forward who is harder to muscle off the puck. Weeagar gives the Flames a real solid top 4 group that I'd put up against any other defensive core in the league.
