I just iterated why. How much money would you give up to be warm?
Some people also like playing hockey where people like hockey. For every player that wants to be anonymous there are players that would like to feel like celebrities. Dont ask me why.
And also, its not the 'same money.'

Of course its lame. As is anyone stupid enough to buy it.
'Blaming the weather' is perfect.
"Oh its not the organization, or the taxes, or the fans, or the City, or the Rink, or my teammates....its the weather!"
It completely absolves the individual if the people being spoon-fed feces are stupid enough to swallow.
Well...we cant do anything about the weather! So all is fine! Just a bad stroke of geographical and meteorological luck!
You'd have to be an idiot to believe that BS.
