Yeah, I ended up with a 5600 non-X and saved another 50 bucks but it's obviously a recent processor so it shouldn't be an issue. One thing I didn't bother doing was updating the BIOS because the motherboard I'm using was already running a 5000 series, but I could try that.

I'm going to mess with it more tomorrow and see if I can figure it out. I guess worst case I'm stuck with PCIe3 unless I change things in a couple years. Which is no big performance hit. Was hitting almost 100fps in 4k in Witcher 3 with everything on ultra, which is not bad for a Linux gaming rig. Still need my AIO back from BC though, CPU gets toasty with the stock cooler on it.
