Yeah, and there are a lot of people saying he's as good as Tkachuk based on those point totals... He simply isn't. He is a top-end scoring winger, and will rack up those points if he's on a team with a lot of offensive talent. He's not a primary driver of wins.
I didn't really have an issue with Treliving getting into the Johnny Gaudreau business on an 8 year extension but it would be a tough pill to swallow on Huberdeau, as I don't think you want a guy making 8+ on your cap when he's 36.
That said, I suppose the next 2-4 seasons (depending on how you deal with the players who are up before 2024-2025) are the window for this group so maybe you don't care quite so much about that if you're the GM. Which would certainly militate in favour of a Kadri signing or something.
