What Treliving probably does now is probably not sign anyone big in the immediate future. I imagine first order of business is getting them to sign. If they’re wishy washy and they need to hold off to the deadline where other teams’ rosters and cap room is filled, he needs to maintain cap room to take on a contract if he deals either of those two. So I do imagine there’s probably a trade or two for bottom six guys, but I can’t see a major signing happening unless there’s clarity on Huberdeau or Weeger. I’m sure he’ll pitch to them that if they sign they’ll be in a position to sign more guys to go for it. Very interesting possibilities ahead.
