Pretty sure Treliving would’ve only traded Tkachuk to a team that he was willing to re-sign for 8 years in order to maximize the asset return, so whoever was getting Tkachuk would’ve had to pay a King’s ransom.
For me, personally, I would’ve preferred an A+ prospect, a 1st and a talented, controlled, future top 6 forward. That would’ve been the type of return that I would’ve preferred because that’s 3 possible impact players that could’ve played for your team for a decade + rather than the all in for 2023 move we’re seeing.
