I was super sad to see Johnny Gaudreau leave. He was truly spectacular, regardless of how he ended up making his final bye Calgary decisions. One of the stories that burns is when he arrived he took the worst change room and the smallest in the corner and kept it until he left.

I wasn't surprised by Tcachuk's sentiments to want to move; as his last signing was a full indicator. Tcachuk can be a game breaker in both senses. We had such a great season of competition and this guy had some great nights and some not so great nights. I won't miss his no look passes to ####ing nobody or 5-8 game disappearances if his ego takes a hit.

Based on where the team was at and the weird Covid years, I just don't fault Treliving and thing he had hoped deeper success would have leveraged contract renewals which didn't work out. One was a known factor and the other was anyones guess; and I don't even think Gaudreau got it right.

But to have Huberdeau who i've long admired step in, i'm just so beside myself. This isn't a crafty winger with a zippy deceptive skillset, this is a playmaker, a guy who is strong on the puck and see's the game. I just feel fortunate to be able to have this person step in with Lindholm.

Upside underrated 2 way D, yes please. Protected first round 2025, yes again. We've got some talent able to push up as well, and some people coming off the books.

This could be one of the most skilled trades to date, where both teams get what they need. Florida upgrading it's toughness factor getting a long term player while shedding one they knew they would not resign.

I'd like to send a big FU to sportsnet as well for their time to rebuild piece and slag crap writing and article.
