They could sign one of them this off-season. If I was BT I would try to sign Huberdeau to 7 years 73.5 to 80.5 million (10.5 to 11.5 per year) and call it a day. You have the cap space with Monahan and Lucic moving out and there is no logical reason to think Huberdeau slows down any time before his 35th birthday in any significant way. Worst case scenario you are overpaying a guy in the last couple years of the contract. I would say rather they overpay a guy like Huberdeau and cheap out on the 4th line than save money to sign 30 year old mid tier UFA’s.
