I’m sure there are many.
People say “hockey’s a religion” all the time. They’re not wrong.
Religions (cults) are well known for rampant sexual abuse.
And any institution that becomes so beloved as a football team, hockey team, gymnastics program, movie studio, you see where I’m going, is going to have to constantly be on guard against things like this.
And if they’re not, those things will happen. And if (when) those institutions cover the initial scandal up, it will be so much worse than if they’d just done the right thing in the moment instead of protecting a rapist.
