All 8 men present were accused of wrongdoing by the victim though. For Howden to say that there hasn't been a suggestion that he was accused and was not involved is a lot less murky than the the "denies wrongdoing" of others. Still could make it crystal clear like others before him had done.
Which is why it sounds so whiney. "Blanket condemnation" is that true? Makar came out and said he wasn't there and I think that was pretty much that for Makar. He got out of ahead of the thing by denying his involvement without any ambiguity and then appears to have went on with his life. Howden crying that he has to make a statement doesn't garner much sympathy for me. I mean if the public is financing Hockey Canada, they deserve to have answers and that should include who was alleged to be involved, plus just given the accusations and number of people involved, a statement denying involvement isn't exactly that big of a an inconvenience. Especially if it helps reveal who the (alleged) perpetrators actually were.
