Get a chimney starter and wood chunks. Fill with briquettes, light, put on one side of the kettle. Throw chunk on charcoal. Put meat on other side.

I own one and I've done this several times but I find I can't keep the temp constant. I don't have a chimney starter, but my Weber has a propane starter for the briquettes/wood. Maybe I'm just not putting enough charcoal in to start.
I get jelly of my buds who have the ability to set it and forget it.
