3090s a great card . Love my asus strix 3090 gaming oc card. I was going to wait as I have a 3070ti strix and aurous extreme 3080 but realistically I see the price of a 4090 being close to 3000 and unavailable probably at least a year .
I figure I'll get a good 2 years out of it be fore it replaces that aurous extreme 3080 n the wife's build and I upgrade to a 4090 or 4080. I'll probably just skip the 4000 series in hope the 5000 series is more energy efficient than the 4000. I really don't want a 600watt plus card and a 200 plus watt cpu together. My computer room is fairly big and it gets at least 3 to 5 degrees warmer as it is.
Also outside of cyberpunk I'm already getting 100+fps in games even with Ray tracing on and 500+ in rocket leugue my alienware 38 is only 144 hz , my 27 is only 240, and the 34 oled alienware I have on order is only 175hz. How many fps do I really Ned via a 4000 card.
In reality the 3080 did a good job of that before it went in the wife's system. That said the extra vram is super nice to have . Halo infinite was close to maxing out v ram on a 10g card and that games not that intense in terms of visuals IMO
The 3090 is excellent at driving my g9 monitor properly which I had always struggled with.
