I'm game for young players coming back here and bolstering that with a massive offseason in 2023.
Hell, we can throw McDavid money at Nate Mack next offseason and see if we can price him out of Colorado.

True and even if we have no chance at Mackinnon if we trade Tkachuk for Bratt, Holtz and 1st. We now have 2 firsts
If Mangiapane doesn't sign long term can we trade him for a bad contract and a first? Example to the Penguins for Zucker and 1st? Can we get more
3 firsts in 2023 draft and our first near the top. Can we utilize the 2 extra firsts or 1 for a Dougie Hamilton type trade? Every year some RFA is available because he doesn't want to sign or team wants to bridge a good young players. Lindholm was another guy we added in this scenario.
I'm ok to use the 2 late firsts to add a RFA available and keep a guy like Holtz and the Flames first that could be another high end prospect.
Hard to say who we might move but I'm ok with trading anyone that won't ink 5+ year deals and keep anyone that will. I'm also ok if they don't spend the cap this year so we can load up next year
