Now 2022 NASA is launching a giant rocket heading for the moon but unmanned with 3 mannequins? Surely if we made so many trips back then we have the means and technology to not waste a launch on 3 mannequins.
If Orion's trip to the moon and back goes well, astronauts could climb aboard in 2023 for a lunar loop-around and actually land in 2025.

Can you imagine the technology required to fake it using 60s video technology?
When it’s okay if people die it’s much easier to do things. But all the early space missions were unmanned and had test flights.
Apollo 1 burned on the Launch pad. That is no longer acceptable level of risks.
Also in terms of duration it’s taking 2017 -2025 for Artemis to reach the moon. Compared Apollo started in 61 and took until 69 and didn’t have manned flights until 67.
