No but 1st round draft picks give you more shots @ a lottery ball.
Of course the team your looking to trade with has to be considered in terms of their 1st pick, someone like NJ has more value to their 1st than say STL.

But the more 1st round picks you have in general the better your odds of getting a top 3 pick lets say. It's all relevant however, as Jiri pointed out in a previous post "its about the quality" not necessarily the pick. If NJ wont give up the 2023 1st then we have to look at a Mercer + Holtz + something.
