He doesn't come with an extension unless he signs an extension. And it will be a huge AAV extension, if signed.
Tkachuk will sign an extension if the team is right and the AAV and term are right. I'd pump the brakes until we know that there is a suitable team involved and they've agreed to terms.
This is not going to be a simple team. And a team giving up a ton of cap space will also be reluctant to give up premium multiple picks and prospects for taking on so much space.
Tkachuk has value to be sure, but it's not like he is still on his ELC.
