Rumours are that it'll only be the 4090 out this year and it'll be next year for the 4080 and lower.
Mind you rumours also put the 4090 as almost twice as fast as a 3090, which is crazy, and might be worth waiting for depending on what the needs are.
I won't be getting a wide screen monitor so 4K is my target, but even then I'm a bit leery of a 3090 since you have to still reduce quality in Cyberpunk 2077 on a 3090 to get over 100fps, where a 4080 might be the sweet spot.
But of course there's a question of when will it come out and what will the price be. If the 4080 price is somewhere around the 3080's at launch then it might be worth waiting. They may jack up the prices I guess.
And who knows what AMDs cards will be like this time around.. if they have similar ray tracing and raster performance but take less power then they'll be the ones to get.
So I guess the question is does the 4080 show up at around $1000CAD? If it does then a 3090 doesn't make value sense at $1000 for me unless I need something now, which I don't really.
But if the 3090s continue to fall..
I guess I could figure out what my "too good to pass up" price is for a 3090 and buy one if it gets there. $750 lol!
