I don't mind Johnny leaving but losing Tkachuk stings a little more.
He's younger than Johnny, tougher, intelligent, well-spoken, and would appear to have leadership qualities that are rare in the NHL. It's rare to find a player like that.
However, unlike Johnny he never seemed to be very close with his teammates on the Flames who by all accounts are a fun and close-knit group. I always found that a little odd - but based on that it's not a huge shock that he wants a change of scenery.
