But since Tkachuk likely has to agree to a contract as part of the trade, he actually holds all the cards. And some of his teams who will be on the list may have little interest (or ability) to do a deal.
The time element is not there, as once his 1-year contract is set, he cannot agree to an extension until Jan 1.
It will be 3 assets for Tkachuk.
