Best case scenario. We were never gonna win a cup with Johnny and Chucky as our core. Signing them to huge money deals would have turned us into the Minnesota Wild 2.0. And likely soured their relationship with fans because they are gonna underperform those contracts imo.
Sorry to see them go because I enjoyed watching them play but I’m more excited about the future of the flames than I have been in a long time.
