After my dad had health issues a year or two ago, I think I've become a lot more conscious of my parents getting older and their own mortality... so I definitely understand his position on wanting to be closer to family
I do think Johnny was conflicted and take him for his word on that...deep down, though, I agree that he probably was always leaning to go for all of the underlying reasons that he mentions...
looking for a reason to stay rather than a reason to leave are two different mindsets.
Its a disappointing end to his Calgary Flames career, in the end he made the best choice for him and his family.... its a shame though that it came down to the wire like that, as it really does hamper the Flames moving forward.
I know for some people, no explanation would be enough for them...
though I couldn't ever cheer for Columbus, I hope he finds that life balance he's looking for...
