I’m still hopeful that Tkachuk will re-sign here but this is a good move by the Flames.

Which teams have the cap space and assets, especially if Tkachuk wants to go to a particular team?

The Flames really need to get this arena deal figured out already, how are you going to keep players here in the future even if you’re able to draft and aquire via trade, they’ll just move on in free agency like we’re seeing now.

Makes you appreciate Iginla that much more, I get a bit of that from Tkachuk and that’s why I think he might still stay.
