I couldn’t agree more. It’s hard to be patient but if the RFAs sign this team is still pretty young and things could look a lot better if we played guys like Pelletier Mackey Ruzicka Phillips next year. No matter where you finish in the standings having a year to see what you have and crap contracts coming off the books can change the outlook in 1 year especially with next draft supposedly being very strong
Finish bottom 5 - getting a star player in draft more than likely sold assets at trade deadline and should be in position to have huge cap space
Finish bottom 6 - 10 - still adding a high prospect and likely still an 80 point team. Sold at trade deadline should have huge cap space
Finish bottom 11 - 16. Just missed playoffs. Doubt you traded assets for rentals. Adding big cap space and probably a 90 point team. Really not terrible minus Johnny.
Make playoffs - if they are still a playoff team minus Johnny then something went right. Still have huge cap space but minus Johnny long term huge contract til he’s 37. Losing the risky deal and still winning would a good situation to be in long term especially doing it with the kids on the roster with room to grow
