The reality is with no Gaudreau the Flames can easiliy sign Tkachuck for up up to 10 mil a year, toss in 6 mill for 6 for a Mangiapane, give Kjillington his bridge deal and have a few million left over.
No more need to "trade Lucic" or worry about Monahans status. They both come off the books next year.
The team is just as strong in Goal, on Defense and down the middle as they were before. They lost a high scoring winger and will see a scoring drop however after year two of Sutter this club will still be top 2-3 defensively.
